How to Get to Imlil
🚗 By Car
- Distance: 70 km from Marrakech (~1.5-2 hours).
- The road to Imlil is scenic, passing through Asni, a small market town.
- Renting a 4×4 is ideal, especially in winter.
🚕 By Grand Taxi
- Shared grand taxis leave from Marrakech (Bab er-Rob station).
- Cost: ~50–100 MAD per seat (private taxi: 400–600 MAD).

🥾 1. Trekking & Hiking Trails
Imlil is the gateway to Mount Toubkal, but there are many other hikes for all levels.
🏔️ Mount Toubkal (2-3 Days)
The ultimate challenge for adventure seekers! Climbing North Africa’s highest peak (4,167m) is a rewarding yet demanding trek.
- Day 1: Hike from Imlil to the Toubkal Refuge (3,207m) (~6 hours).
- Day 2: Early morning summit climb (~3-4 hours), then descend back to Imlil.
- Best Time: April-October (Summer); November-March (Winter trek with crampons).
🌄 Tizi n’Tamaterte Pass (Half-Day Hike)
- Duration: ~4-5 hours (round trip).
- Elevation: 2,279m.
- Views of: The Imlil Valley and Tachdirt Village.
- Ideal for those short on time but wanting stunning panoramas.
🏞️ Azzaden Valley Trek (Full Day)
- A moderate trek through forests, Berber villages, and waterfalls.
- Ideal for: Nature lovers wanting a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience.
